A group of students from Bavaria took part in a 4 day education programme funded by Erasmus. They were hosted at CECAS and Pair na Tobair where they participated in a varied programme learning and assisting with tree planting, woodland maintenance, ecological monitoring, tree nurseries, public participation, climate action, biodiversity, sustainability and the environment.
It’s a new beginning for Green Economy Foundation. We have moved our premises from Manch Estate to Myross Wood in Leap Co. Cork with CECAS (the centre of excellence for climate action and sustainability) run by Green Skibbereen.
From here, we are still involved in advocacy work at a national and international level, still running our projects(primarily Trees on the Land and the Tobago Project) and introducing new ones (West Cork Donut Economics Network) whilst helping to restore and develop the native woodlands of Myross. Our education programme has shifted from working with school groups to working with voluntary groups, corporate organisations and community-based projects, planting trees, developing biodiversity plans, advising, collaborating with a wide range of community groups and providing education in native woodlands, biodiversity, sustainability and the environment.
